I'm looking at this painting now as I write. I vividly remember painting it, the things I was feeling at the time and the way I felt. It was about a relationship that I was hoping would work - and I just couldn't make it work. I painted this painting without any reference materials - it literally is imagined. It was about natural rhythm and interruption of it - the dark light inhaling silhouette of the tree jumping in-between light hitting the trees in the background is pertinent. It is really nice to sit with this painting now that all has passed. Like my recent paintings, the light is hope.
