This painting always makes me smile a little, and gives me slight vertigo when I photograph it - frames within frames, bald heads and self portraits... The study for this painting was called 'As far as inflight break ups go, atleast it wasn't the airframe' - these paintings were created after I returned from Africa with a broken ankle and I couldn't get outside to paint and gather inspiration. The only place i continually found myself which I was inspired by - was the bathroom - If you saw the original exhibition you'll know the full story (feel free to email and ask). Hence a commencement of many lovingly painted urinals. This one in particular is the bathroom at Sofitel 35 - the view has since been half taken over by a sky skyscraper... There is some amazing brushwork in this image, I'll upload some more details soon.
